Shame about Bertrand and think it shows Hodgson's favouritism to the big clubs. Absolutely no justification for Shaw being in the squad ahead of Bertrand but Hodgson wouldn't want to upset the "big boys". He just doesn't get it that he should pick players based on their performances not their club badge, why England will win nothing. have to laugh at Pochitino shouting about Rose at LB, must be at least 4 others in front of him.

Looks like you got that wrong Matty....
Bertrand must be a thousand times more p***ed off tonight, apparently Shaw has withdrawn through injury and Danny Rose has been called up to the squad!! I thought Bertrand had a really good game today too......

He should have told Hodgson to sod off, not good enough for the Euro qualifier which was first game and an easy one so all the "big club" players then can then be released to keep them all happy. then go and get someone from that "little club" as doesn't matter if he gets injured and has to fly to Europe mid week oh and play against a decent side so I fabulous Woy can say told you he was not any good if we lose.
Hodgson is as bad as all the other England managers that suck up to the old regime of London clubs and Manchester and Liverpool, probably worse as he makes it so obvious

Yes, you are right, he should have made an excuse not to go. But I think he is desperate to play for England so will be hoping to make a good impression and stake a claim for a regular place.
