I get a very bad feeling that our dithering will convince Koeman to wait for something else, no point going somewhere if they really want you.

Sorry to say I feel very strongly now that we will not be getting Koeman.....maybe, as you say Matty, because we seem to be dithering over a decision......or maybe because we are reluctant to meet his pay demands.

I see that Sherwood is now a very strong second favourite with the bookies!

as for Hodgson wish he would concentrate on the job of managing the England team. Is under his watch that all the tapping up has been going on and he ought to be laying the law down as to standards, problem is he has made Gerrard his Captain and main man and therefore he is allowed to get away with pretty much what he wants, I have no doubt he has been Liverpool's conduit to both Lallana and Lambert. Plus if Liverpool insist on £15m down for Lallana then they have no chance of signing him as we (hopefully) wont be selling for that price.

Koeman's odds have eased a little today.......today's money seems to have gone on Ranieri, his odds have been cut drastically and he is now clear second favourite at around 2/1 or 3/1.

Rumours on Twitter that Koeman has now been approached by West Brom as his talks with Saints have stalled.....only rumours of course.

You can now back Koeman at evens.....just a couple of days ago he was 1/2!!

On reflection, I can see you would not expect Koeman to be put in the job and then go on holiday, he will obviously be expected to work once appointed.....so, ok, let the guy have his holiday now.....just as long as he is coming back very soon.

Afraid this saga to me sums up Kruger (Tweedledee) and Reed (Tweedledum) who are both totally out of their depth. kruger no lcue on Football and Tweedledum is his previous role did not do contracts, he has been great since January, failed to sort MP contract, players looking to leave and complaining no communication, no contract discussion with Cork, Boruc, Davis, Fonte.

The manager is the key appointment for a football club. Tweedledee indicated that we had up to 20 scouts working on this the minute Pochitino refused to talk about new contract until the season over. Was then a 2 - 3 week period when obvious he was going as he acted the tart with Spurs, Now 2 weeks further on still no appointment, seem to have considered others since interviewed Koeman, McGragh & Bruce so what sort of image does this send out about Saints, their direction ambition vision. For me their vision is "not a clue" , still traveling around the world and Europe larging it up how important they are yet in reality have delivered nothing in months the pair of them.

I really want Koeman not just because looks a decent manager and works well with young players I also think he wont take any crap from the boardroom which I think is absolutely vital, also the reason why I think Reed is not so keen on him and would prefer another option if he could as knows he will have the main say.

Thomas Tuchel's odds have also closed quite dramatically.

Betting odds show Koeman, Ranieri, Mancini and Tuchel to be the front-runners.......interesting if they are the four on the shortlist!!!!

The next four are Bruce, Lennon, Sherwood and Moyes. I reckon Reed is likely to have more of these 4 on his shortlist than he has of the top 4.
