Last away game of the season.......can we get a good result? Have a feeling this could be a 0-0 or 1-1 draw but hope Saints might manage a win.

Mike

like you think it will be a draw, 1 - 1. Swansea will be relaxed as they are safe so could either be a complete bore with no side that keen or quite an entertaining game. I think we still have something to prove so think will be a decent game but we struggle to convert chances so a draw.

Will provide a report on Sunday as going to game, off tomorrow lunchtime but coming back after game but will be late.

Well, relieved that we sneaked the late win......didn't look as if we knew how to score. Lallana had a bit of an off day?

Not a great game but battled hard, plenty of possession just few clear cut chances and shows again how important Rodrigues has become to our attacking game and why signing a decent striker is important. Lambert carrying an injury so on the bench, Cork Schneiderlin and Wanayama started with Lallana behind Gallagher and Cork on right side.

Plenty of possession but most chances were long range shots, Cork had 3 attempts in 1st half which shows a new intent though were all blocked. Saints could have gone behind early on when Davis on right side picked ball up on edge of our box then tried to run across the box, bringing the ball into danger, then lost the ball under pressure from Bony, shot came in which Boruc did well to block rebound went to Swansea player and follow up went over the bar with goal at their mercy. Free kick on left side of box which would normally be Lamberts and Lovren took responsibility and went for goal but went on top of net. From a corner Gallagher had a header that went wide. Bony responded for Swansea with a shot that went over. First half we had dominated possession and had chances with Cline and Shaw being the key with some great runs down the sides

Second half Swansea played slightly wider which made attacks down the side more difficult and quite a few misplaced passes by both sides. Lallana had a shot from outside the box which was comfortable for Vorm thought Adam could probably have gone in closer. Shelvey took a free kick from a dangerous position but was straight at Boruc and a couple of corners gave some concern but no real shots. Lallana went of on 60 minutes , looked like plan to give Adam game time but also not flog him to death and Rickie came on. Game then had a few subs which disrupted the flow, Dyer came on for Swansea and showed some good touches, Davis had a shot that flew over and Schneiderlin had a shot which lacked power but was well placed but easy enough for Vorm. then at the end saints got the decisive goal, just before we scored Swansea knocked the ball into box with Bony well placed but great clearing header from Lovren denied the opportunity, saints then went forward ball was knocked through for Lambert but Williams got there first but his hack at clearing put the ball in the air spinning back and Lambert ran in with Vorm, muscled him out the way then thought of his back but now looks like his arm into the net. Cue celebrations from Saints fans as right in front of us and game kicked off then final whistle.

So great way for last away game of the season, 55 points club record in Premiership, 7 away wins. oh and free scarf as club put a free scarf on every seat in saints end.

Boruc 7 called into action a few times and was solid, nearly got his shirt at end of game but huge giant in front had no chance Sad
Shaw 8 great game going forward very composed on the ball
Fonte 7 some good tackles
Lovren 7 another strong game and headed clearance at end excellent
Cline 7 good runs first half
Davis 6 a few loose passes but does get through a lot of work
Schneiderlin 6 not his best game but still had a decent shot
Wanyama 7 again another strong performance from him, CM has to be him and 1 other
Cork 6 tried hard but on right side wasn't as good as in centre.
Lallana 6 not at his best but still pulled the strings
Gallagher 7 unlucky with his header, couple of good runs with ball at feet, over 70 minutes game time great development opportunity for 18yr old.

Subs
Lambert 7 not his best goal but shows his presence can create havoc, he should be going to Brazil.
Ward prowse 6 came on for Gallagher and gave some energy to midfield and linked well with Davis and Harrison Reed when he came on.
Harrison Reed 6 last 5 minutes for Cork

Cheers Pete, a good day out. Bony would be a decent acquisition but suspect he will look for club with Champions league. hope we can keep the squad together as doesn't need a lot of additions to improve further. Cline and Shaw were again both excellent, Lovren tough to get past Wanyama a beast and stacks of midfield talent (Adam, Morgan, Corkie, Davis,)
