AWAY TO SPURS
Saints have had some notable home wins against Man City, Chelsea and Liverpool, a draw at home to Arsenal and a more than useful away draw at Chelsea, can they spring another surprise on Saturday?

[stating the obvious]Saints are going to have to be a lot better than last Saturday, otherwise we'll get hammered.[/stating the obvious]

Re: AWAY TO SPURS
After watching Saturdays performance cant see anything other then a win for Spuds, possibly by 3 goals, saints on Saturday were like watching saints at the beginning of the season, shaky defence, ineffective midfield and little threat up front with no service.
With no Fox that might be a blessing even without Shaw. I thought Forren was left footed so possibly a chance for him or Cline at Left back and Yoshida at RB with Fonte in at CH. Does mean Hoovield plays and think he needs a real kick up rear to improve as he is not as good as he thinks he is.
Another option will be does he also stick with 2 up front or go with 1 and play an extra midfield player. For me Puncheon should be starting and I would play Davis in front of back four to provide additional cover. Start Lambert up front with Rodrigues on bench, tough on him but all about getting a balanced side and do not think Rodrigues is ready to play the lone striker that Lambert can. Lallana and Puncheon to support Lambert and again looking for Lallana to actually deliver on the pitch, for me he has had a poor season and like last year having come back from injury has been quite poor.
Just hope Shaw is fit for final 2 games where we will have to pick up points.

Re: AWAY TO SPURS
Quite a number of Spurs fans registered on here a few years ago at the time when we held a weekly quiz between the two sets of supporters. I have sent emails to 16 of them suggesting they come here and let us have their views on Saturday's game. I hope some of them may look in...
Has anyone any questions for them?

Has anyone any questions for them?
Do they think they will keep Bale in the summer?
What do they think of AVB, do they think a decent manager?
Have they got any decent youngsters coming through. We have had Bale, Walcott, Oxlade Chamberlain now Shaw, possibly Ward Prowse.

Re: AWAY TO SPURS
Still Shaw will start as need him for last 2 games so wouldn't be surprised if starts on the bench.

Re: AWAY TO SPURS
Strange but I am feeling much more confident today than last week. I am pretty sure Saints will get at least a point, probably all three.......
Re: AWAY TO SPURS
That was completely undeserved. Mugged by that chimp-faced twat who otherwise did nothing all game. WBA also lost to Wigan. Not a good day.

Re: AWAY TO SPURS
Last week played poor and lost today played really well but still lost. results were not good for us but have a little more confidence because of the way we played. We dominated for most of the match and really looked comfortable so a real kick in the teeth for bale to score about the only time he got free, had managed to dive a couple of times and once in the box should have been booked.
What worries me is we didn't score and I don't think aside from the free kick, Lambert had an attempt at goal, just not getting into the box. Unlucky with free kick which was deflected and then ball back in should have been headed in but think it was Davis headed straight at goalie, Cline also so nearly scored got through and blasted a shot which just went wide with goalie well beaten. Several corners in second half but delivery was to central.
Not sure about some of MP's decisions though Guly starting ahead of Puncheon though all credit to Guly as he played well today, Fonte played which was right but then he dropped Yoshida and kept Hoovield in, then when Guly was injured he put Mayuka on and played as centre forward, Lambert dropped deep and Rodrigues went wide right. We never really threatened after that, Mayuka was a big gamble and for me did nothing got free a couple of time but his final ball was poor.
Cline and Shaw were outstanding and no real justice with the goal so late on, really don't like Bale, oh and he did celebrate despite what he said before game have now to go to sunderland and win now, I am hoping Stoke win on Monday but if we play the same intensity do think we can win up there. One thing though is I want to see someone have a shot, thought it was Adkins originally that the team didn't shoot but now the same with a different manager, think it is the players who just won't take the responsibility

Re: AWAY TO SPURS
Damn feel sick at the moment, such a frustrating result. I thought Cline was Man of the Match. A bit worried about Lallana's recent dip in form, and Rodrigues looks to have lost the bite he had a few weeks ago. IF I was manager and IF we had strength in depth I would leave them both out next week.
Re: AWAY TO SPURS
I was a little concerned when in the post-match interview on Sky, Tino was asked what he felt about the danger of relegation, and he replied that if the team played as they did today in the remaining 2 games then there was no risk of them going down.
As I see it, it's firstly about making sure they play like they did today and not like they did last week. And secondly, it's not just about playing well but more importantly making sure they get the right results.

I think its a balance though about not getting the players to panic, we know us fans are, but they need to stay calm, keep playing as they did on Saturday but be a bit more clinical around goal, Rickie and JRod have to get in the box or around the box and be prepared to have a go at goal.
