Re: Pulis an asset?
Not sure I can contain my excitement at being able to post more than 3 times a day here!
Can't believe how much things have changed since Saints Forever, but the day you have to pay to take part in an internet forum, is the time I stop using the internet all together.
Anyway on topic.
I can't believe Pulis has less ability than Wotton and we certainly needed extra cover for the battling centre mid role. It's going to be a long season and I can see him being a useful aquisition.

Re: Pulis an asset?
I'm inclined to agree with what you say about paying the fiver. Just hope we can get more members, the problem is letting fans know we're here. Not looking for the same number of people as Saints Web but a hundred or two regular users would be nice.
Re: Pulis an asset?
It will be interesting to see whether Saints Web delete your post moaning about the fee and drawing attention to this forum!!
Re: Pulis an asset?
Wouldn't surprise me if they did delete it. I've be moaning fairly constantly to Webmaster Barrie about it since the beginning of Saints Web. He's taken to just blanket responding to me now, saying "you know the reasons why etc....". It's an outrage, I really can't believe some people have been suckered into paying. They haven't even bought their own servers (which is why I imagined they needed such a vast amount of capital), they are still using a hosting company on a single Web server.....
Until they completely ban me, I'll continue to drop ohwhenthesaints into my postings (3 times a day). ;)

That's fantastic, thanks Jas
Re: Pulis an asset?
I can't say to much about Pulis, just hope he does a better job here than Stoke fans think he did for them. How big is he, can he pas, defend and score.
By the way Mike I love the colour scheme as everything is easy to read.

Re: Pulis an asset?
This Stoke fans web page does not seem too encouraging... http://www.clubfanzine.com/stoke_city/v2.showNews.php?id=3410

Re: Pulis an asset?
Stoke fans not convinced by him. Stoke don't play football in our present style so will leave judgement till later. Am prepared to back management at moment.
Re: Pulis an asset?

Re: Pulis an asset?
As mentioned earlier in the thread. I think he'll have more pace than Wotten, but can be a similar enforcer to protect our more skilful players. Saying that, they seem to be able to handle themselves!
As long as he can tackle and pass to his team mates, I'll be happy.

Yeah, I'll stand by thinking he'll be a younger Wotton.

Whats The Score With Pulis
Wednesday 08 Oct 2008 11:21:04 by TUI Staff
Saints fans are asking whats happened to Anthony Pulis
Its fair to say that many Saints fans questioned the wisdom of signing Ant Pulis from Stoke, his pedigree in football was non existent and at 24 he hadnt even started his own age in career games and most of these were at a lower level.
But the wisdom of signing him in our current financial predicament becomes even more baffling when you look at the options we have in midfield, Pulis will be lucky to get a game in the reserves to be blunt.
But its that financial predicament thats more worrying, presumably we now have him on our books and have been paying him since August, this being the case and bearing in mind that Jan Poortvliet has mentioned that he expects him to be available in 5-6 weeks, why on earth did we bother signing him at all.
Either our medical staff are incapable of diagnosing the extent of an injury and the healing time correctly or we have money to burn, by Poortvliets guess he will be back around Xmas, so why didnt we wait until the January transfer window before getting him on the strength, when we were sure that he was fully fit.
The money we are currently paying out for his wages could have been better spent on bringing in a decent full back on loan, a position we are dreadfully short in.
Once again the Club needs to start telling the fans the reasoning behind some of its decisions,
