WILL LIAM FONTAINE IMPROVE OUR DEFENCE??
It seems Saints are on the verge of completing the purchase of defender Liam Fontaine for £1m+.
A lot of comments flying around are seeming to indicate that he is not worth the money!!

I am not impressed with the City fan's comment above....
“Good business for an average player who is mistake prone, totally one footed and certainly no leader"
The thing is that, whether or not Fontaine is any good, his confidence will surely be shot to pieces if he sees comments like this!!

The Fontaine deal has fallen through, as he failed a Saints medical this morning. I can't say I am disappointed, as it sounded as if the ankle problem is a real concern. Why sign a crocked player?

Interesting. And more than a bit worrying imo.

Re: WILL LIAM FONTAINE IMPROVE OUR DEFENCE??
On radio solent they said it was concerns over the immediate fitness of fontaine which would sort of make sense. if he isnt going to be available for a few weeks would be a bit pointless as looks like NA wants someone who can play straight away (Gorkes!), His agent said no concerns over "his long term concerns over fitness" which would be true. all in all though a bit of mess by cortese, NA has identified who he wanted and think Fontaine was his last choice when they realised Gorkes deal wasnt going to happen.
all of this cant be doing seabourn's confidence much good either, he does try even if not the most comfortable on the ball and must be under lot of pressure each game knowing he cant afford any mistakes which means he takes safety route first time every time, cant say I blame him considering.
