Official statement from Nicola Cortese re the future

Good news, and reassuring, I think you'll agree. Mr. Cortese wants to see Markus' ambition fulfilled, as do the Liebherr family. The club will stay in the family.

Part of the statement goes thus:

While some outside parties continue to question and attack what is happening at St Mary's, I shall continue to make decisions that put the interests of the Club first. It is what Markus would have wanted and what our supporters deserve.

"Markus and I had agreed on a blueprint for future success. I have spoken at length with Markus' family and they are fully supportive of Saints and in fulfilling Markus' legacy. I can confirm to our supporters that ownership of Southampton Football Club shall remain solely within Markus' family's personal interests.
