Darren carter
Believe Darren Carter may be on trial at Barnet game tonight. Think he is still at Preston but ex WBA. sort of midfield player I think would be good if his form hasn't desserted him.

Re: Darren carter
Found this on Skysports website:
Alan Pardew will hold talks with Darren Carter after the Preston North End midfielder linked up with Southampton on trial.
Carter has been made available for transfer by Preston and recently trained with fellow Championship club Millwall.
He has now moved on to Southampton and featured in Tuesday's friendly against Barnet as Pardew looks to add to his squad before the start of the season.
"We had an opportunity for Darren to come and play for us and we took that opportunity to have a look at him," the Saints boss told the club's official website.
"He's had a good career with some good clubs and I thought he did well. He worked hard and showed a lot of commitment to Southampton for the match.
"I think the situation basically is that he's free to find a club and not a lot of senior players would come out and play the way he's played.
"Fair play to him, he put himself in the shop window and he did himself a favour really.
"I'll talk to him and discuss what our plans are and whether they fit in with what Darren can do, but we're still hoping to bring one or two players in before we start."

I think so, might not be as aggressive as some but also at 6 2 add some height in midfield. Will give some options as could play a midfield 3 of Carter, Schneiderlin and Hammond allowing Lallana a fee role or adding puncheon so two wide players. Suspect might depend on his salary demands but personally i think he would be a good addition

Re: Darren carter
Don't know too much about Carter but we certainly need some depth in midfield so could be a good signing even if he doesn't get in the starting 11.

Re: Darren carter
Fans that were at the game seemed happy with him so let us see if he plays on saturday.
Re: Darren carter
Think money should not be a problem, but Millwall didnt sign him becuase they could not agree personal terms.

Re: Darren carter
Shame about losing out on Carter, doesn't appear we made much effort, os says he was going back to Preston but he didn't take long to go to Millwall on loan.
