Chelsea are rumoured to be interested in making a move for Southampton’s highly rated England Under 21 international Adam Lallana. Carlo Ancelotti has been looking to bring in new British talent to help fulfill the new ‘homegrown’ ruling quota for the new season and has been linked with a move for the pint sized attacking midfielder.
Tottenham boss Harry Redknapp has also been linked with a move for the St Albans born playmaker and the League One side face a tough fight to keep hold of the extremely talented youngster.
For the past two seasons Lallana has been a fixture in the Saints set up and had an excellent run of form last term where he netted 20 goals from the midfield and has attracted interest from a host of Premier League sides.
Valued at around £8m he would hardly dent the Stamford Bridge budget and whilst Lallana wouldn’t be Premier League ready from the outset but has a great deal of potential and could be turned into a very attractive prospect if given the chance.

He'd be yet another promising young player left sitting on the bench (if he even got to the bench) and not fulfilling his potential. He'd do well to remember Theo Walcott and Andrew Surman. Bigger/higher league clubs came in for them and what happened? Walcott is a shadow of what he was, and Surman was not even played by Wolves.
Sainst don't need to sell him and, as Alan Pardew told him last year, he's got time on his side and what would be better than helping Saints get back to the Premier League?

Maybe Nicola would think £8m would cover all transfer buyings we need to get us up?

Perhaps we could get first loan option on him for this season??

Have to agree don't think it would be a great move for his football career but would be great for his bank balance. Cant see him getting even on the bench apart for making up the numbers of English born players.

That said if they did offer £8m I would be sorely tempted as can buy a few decent players for that amount and would fund a few players to build a really strong squad for not just this year but next year as well, throw in a couple of loan players coming back this way and i wouldnt be that unhappy.
