Otsemobor signed by Wednesday

Sheffield Wednesday have agreed to sign full-back Jon Otsemobor following his release by Southampton.

The 27-year-old has agreed a two-year deal at Hillsborough and will officially join the Owls on 1 July.

Otsemobor told the club website: "It goes without saying they [Wednesday] are one of, if not the biggest, club in the division.

"The most important thing for this club is to get out of this division as soon as possible."

Otsemobor started his career at Liverpool and had loan spells at Hull, Bolton and Crewe before permanent moves to Rotherham, Crewe, Norwich and then the Saints.

Boss Alan Irvine said: "I've known about Jon for a long time, since he was a youth team player at Liverpool.

"He's a good athlete, quick, strong and knows what it's like to be at a big club having spent his early years at Liverpool and then going on to play for the likes of Norwich and Southampton. He certainly ticks a lot of boxes."

Otsemobor is Wednesday's second signing in two days, following the arrival of Chris Sedgwick from Preston.

Didnt rate him that much when he was with us but would still be nice to see us actually sign someone, thought AP was looking to get sorted early but activity at club on just about anything suggests everyone is on holiday

I am not impressed with the piss take about our new strips either. They are really stretching any good feeling we the fan base might have. Don't the club realise that time is of the essence at this time of year?
