AFTER-MATCH ANALYSIS: CARLISLE
At the end of each month I intend to hold a poll to vote on members' posts commenting on Saints' League and Cup matches. Please get in the habit of giving us a detailed post after each match saying what you thought of the performance, who played best, who didn't, who should have been playing, what you would have done if you were manager etc., etc.
It doesn't matter if you weren't there.....you can still say what you think.
If you are impressed by a particular member's post please let me know so that I will be sure to include the post in the poll.
Your analysis of Carlisle-Saints should go on this thread please. There is a separate thread in the Amusement Section's Competition League where the table showing the points gained for the analysis will be shown.

Re: AFTER-MATCH ANALYSIS: CARLISLE
I listened to most of the match and, at the end, was just moaning to a relative that we're 1-0 down, we're towards the end of stoppage time and we never score and nick anything in injury time. What happened? Yep, up pops Jaidi to steal a goal and a point. It makes a nice change to rob another team in stoppage time, rather than being robbed ourselves; pity it was only one point, rather than all three, but one's better than none.
It sounded as if Saints played well but it's the same sorry tale of lacking a cutting edge and the final finish. Why are we so toothless? Not being beaten is good, but not winning (apart from last week, where two goals were handed to us on a plate in the form of two penalties) is becoming a drag. Saints have GOT to start taking their chances. Yes, the deficit is nearly cleared but we are in danger of getting too far behind.
Having got the negative stuff out of the way, the late equaliser and getting something from nothing will hopefully instil the players with more confidence. They can't use the excuse that they are a team demoralised and used to losing, because we are now on an unbeaten run. I am hoping that the slice of luck we have had in the last couple of games will translate into more confidence+better play = wins.

Re: AFTER-MATCH ANALYSIS: CARLISLE
Reliant on match commentary and also the text update on the Carlisle website for info. We did seem to play okay and think with a bit of luck could have got all three points but greatful that Jaidi got the last minute equaliser. Having been hit with that sucker punch before nice to be on the good end for once.
Cutting edge is clearly the issue. Chances falling to Mellis is unfortunate as not the most confident when in front of goal. Looking solid for rest of season so think those with relegation fears at start of season can relax but if to push for a play off spot we have to get into a winning not streak not just being unbeaten, starting Tuesday night.
Based on APs comments today my man of match would have to be the fans who made that journey who stuck with them all the wau through, hats off to all you who went.
