Our rivals
With four games left, maybe we should also keep an eye on what our relegation rivals such as Nottingham Forest, Watford and Norwich are doing.
Following yesterday's dismal capitulation we are now four points adrift of safety after Nottingham Forest's injury time winner against Bristol City scored by - it just had to be an ex-Saint, didn't it? - Dexter Blackstock. Norwich, however lost, 2-1 away at Swansea. Watford v Barnsley was a 1-1 draw while Blackpool beat Preston 1-0.
Four games left, four points adrift and with players who have about as much fight in them as a dead mouse, it's going to take a miracle for us to remain in the Championship.

Re: Our rivals
If we don't win handsomely on Monday I feel certain that we can relax knowing our fate is confirmed. Division 1 next season.
That is if we have a team

You can blame that horrible little turncoat Wilde for that.

Re: Our rivals
The way I feel now is strange. I have the relief that the main protagonists have gone. I also have the fear that nobody is there to pick up the pieces. I am going to be at the Burnley game if I can find the money. I would never forgive myself if I missed that and we did fold. As I say these are uncertain times and I know that there are a lot of unhappy Saints fans waiting to see what transpires.
Re: Our rivals
after fridays shower i just hope that the players will actually want to play for the club if not they can **** **f as it sees to me that they just go out there win or lose they get payed for it and they just dont give a sh1t about are club .
what someone needs to tell them is they are in the shop window as if we go down and cant get a buyer then the club is nomore and they will all go and after fridays excuse of a game then i dont think half of the players will get any offers

I agree. In fact, after the Wolves game, my aunt turned to me and said 'If that useless lot think that other clubs will come in for them, they're in for a shock'.

Re: Our rivals
One positive note....at least we don't have to play any of the remaining games in front of the Sky cameras.
Re: Our rivals
Another positive note: if we lose at least we'll know for certain we're going down. Maybe not mathematically, but I'd say we'd not have a chance. I think we have been in worse positions in the 1990's but in those days we had battlers not bottlers.
Ok, let me explain myself - going down is NOT positive but at least we'd be 99.9% certain of our fate and that takes the edge off the despair a bit.

Are we all clutching at straws a bit? desperately trying to find positives from negatives.

Re: Our rivals
Don't we just love this site. Here we are collapsing in a heap and praying for a miracle whilst still trying to gain some positives. Brilliant. Keep it going and next season we will have a team to cheer us up.

Re: Our rivals
Having been a Saints fan for over 50 years I can tell you that it is not always easy. However we always bounce back no matter how hard the knocks.
Re: Our rivals
Norwich lost 3-2 which is good news for us.
