AWAY TO EVERTON
Back to business this weekend, and can Saints get win to show Liverpool and Spurs that they have a fight on their hands in the League?
It would be good if Pelle and Ward-Prowse could follow up their international goals by scoring for Saints......

Re: AWAY TO EVERTON
hope the goal for Pelle may have given him confidence to be more direct, and Ward Prowse needs to get in more goal scoring position but doubt he will start unless he tries to keep wanyama on bench for first half

Re: AWAY TO EVERTON
Oh dear, I wasn't surprised as the vibes had been warning me but still a disappointing result. RK said we played well and I suppose we did, up to a point at least, in the first half but I felt we should have found a way through their defence in the second half. I somehow doubt whether any other top 7 team would have lost as we did.....

I thought it was probably a mistake to take off Ward-Prowse as he seemed to be playing quite well.

Re: AWAY TO EVERTON
Well we had chances but again failed to take them and that changes the outcome of the game, if we had scored first I have no doubts would have won. Lack of a proven goal scorer is clear and must be a top priority in the close season. For me plenty to choose from, Austin (will leave if QPR go down) Ings (though think he will go to Liverpool) or worth the risk on Rhodes who I would have thought would have come down in price to 8 - 10m and although a lot for someone not proven in the premiership probably a better risk with another foreign striker who will take a season adjusting to the pace of football.
Think for Hull should look at Long and Mane up front drop Pelle and rest of the team as we started.
Shame as we really could have made a gain this weekend but should also look at it as only limited damage, Liverpool hammered and Spurs unable to win at Burnley. Reality was unlikely to make top 4 so battle has to be for 5th to 7th. Really need everyone to root for a Liverpool v Arsenal FA cup final, hoping Liverpool will now focus their efforts on winning a trophy to at least get to the final.

Re: AWAY TO EVERTON
I thought Pelle looked a wee bit sharper on Saturday so I'd keep him in for the Hull game. I have a feeling he could net one.....or maybe even a couple......this week.
I agree Chelsea, Arsenal and the Manchester clubs look to be nailed on for the top 4. Disappointing......but then again if Saints could finish 5th (with both Liverpool and Spurs behind) it would be much more than I could have dreamed possible at the start of the season.
I see Man City lost again yesterday. Still an 8 point gap, so an awful lot to ask, but wouldn't it make a tremendous last match of the season if a win for Saints could take us past them??

Re: AWAY TO EVERTON
I think we have looked better when we have played less strikers than more. Koeman often likes to go with 3 whereas 2 up front with additional strength in midfield provides the strength to allow the full backs bomb on. juts think likes of mane and Long gives us more movement which is harder to defend against
