AWAY TO NEWCASTLE......

Post  SaintMike on Thu 15 Jan 2015, 1:37 am

I'd certainly settle for a third 0-1 Saints win in a week.......but I've a feeling it could be 1-1 this time.

Hope we can field a decent midfield. (I wonder whether the recent injuries will persuade Saints to buy or loan.....)

I would settle for a draw without Morgan, Toby and Vic but if we sneak a goal we might be able to get away with a win. Newcastle a bit unpredictable, they played well at Chelsea and should have been a couple of goals in front before they conceded a poor goal. Passionate home ground that will need to be silenced so similar to Utd away game for us but will be more difficult with the injuries

Saints had to hold on like mad.......but the defence were magnificent again. Three away wins in a week!!! And they were all televised live.....no sign of the old TV hoodoo.

Another strong result. Now I am off to watch China vs North Korea in the Asian Cup. If I'm lucky I might even see a few Kim Jong Un haircuts in the crowd.

juts back from quick trip to Scotland, family wedding in Fife then Saturday night in Edinburgh. Was a great night out though not sure wife was impressed with the load of texts I received about the win. Yes 3 away wins in a week is a great achievement and as Koeman said to do without key players is really good. Not firing on all cylinders yet so hoping we can get more wins, looks like CL spot going to be real tough with 5 or 6 side battling for just 2 spots, shame Arsenal won today, so will be a tough challenge but if we can keep the defence tight who knows. Great that Elia has scored a couple now, gives an added dimension and think a bonus as not renowned for his goal scoring.

Get Toby fit and Yoshida back from Asia cup and can have a good run in.

Cork must be wondering how many players will have to be out for him to get a starting place!!

May well want to be careful with him, had only played 25 mins in an U21 game and will need him for the rest of the season
