Ademeno?

On Echo website today....

SAINTS are one of four clubs in the running to sign “the hottest property outside the Football League” – non-league record breaker Charles Ademeno.

And if they do win the race to snap up the 21 year-old forward his current manager believes Saints will have signed a player whose attributes make him a “rare commodity.”

MK Dons, Swindon Town and an unnamed Scottish Premier League club are also credited with having an interest in the Crawley Town striker, along with Saints.

Two of the interested quartet have submitted formal offers for the speedy frontman, who had a loan spell at Salisbury City last season.

Crawley boss Steve Evans told The Daily Echo that Saints haven’t yet reached that stage but talks between the two clubs remain ongoing.

He confirmed that Ademeno had been given permission to make the trip to Southampton yesterday to have a chat with the Saints boss Alan Pardew.

Official Site confirm Puncheon has signed. Says he can play wide or central midfield. Also says will be the last signing in the transfer window.

Well we needed a midfield player so hopefully he can do the business.

AP said on Solent last night no more new faces but Warnock is on Yahoo sports today saying we still have offer in for Danns but it would be a bad move for player if he went, suggesting might be up to player as well as administrator (and we all know that feeling)

Pardew doesn't always say what is going on but when he does speak it seems to be true, so I'm thinking that is it for January.
Perhaps the Yahoo Sports story is old news (before yesterday's signing) or maybe AP just hasn't got around to telling them he has withdrawn his interest.

Not totally sure, Lawrence Herdman (think it was him ) said on Solent after the interview did he actually say no more signings or was it slightly open to interpretation. Plus Warnock comment is recent as talks about other "derisory" offers from other clubs.

Still we seemingly had an offer in for Ward at Coventry that we walked away from so maybe offer was there and never formally withdrawn.

It's not just Solent saying no more signings, the OS said it too when they announced Puncheon's transfer.

Where I can see where Warnock is coming from, and I don't think he is being disrespectful to Saints per se (and how often have we, as Saints fans, said 'I don't think that Xxxxxx should go there, they're crap, it's a backward step'?),I think that staying at Palace could also be detrimental to his (Danns) career, now they're in a relegation battle and in administration. As Saints are ambitious - for the first time in heaven-knows-how-many-years - maybe Danns could take a step back to make two or three forward? It didn't bother Fonte, so maybe it won't bother Danns.

**SLAM**

That's the transfer window closing until summer. Looks like we're done with transfers. No Danns, but I wasn't expecting him to come here anyway, not with Puncheon's signing, despite people getting over-excited elsewhere.

And what's with James Beattie and red 'n' white stripes?

Apparently, out of all 92 league clubs (PL as well as FL) we are in the top ten of spenders. Shocked
