Would be good to win but think will be a draw, Chelsea are a bit indifferent but improved from last year and Hazard certainly playing better. Unfortunately according to Evening Standard Terry is unlikely to play which is a shame as he weakens Chelsea. Bertrand may well start but no Cedric or Long

Disappointing result and several individual performances. To be fair some will have played 4 games in 10 days which has to take its toll. In particular Martina was really poor but look tired and no support from Tadic. Disappointed, you can see the theme here, that Puel didn't consider changing tactics. Chelsea play 3 at the back 5 midfield and we could have matched resting Martina and played JWP wide right with Tadic wide left. As it was our midfield 3 were constantly to narrow Martina constantly exposed and Chelsea put Hazard down the flanks. We started well but conceded far to early, Bertrand was exposed to  Hazard, no midfield cover, allowed him to cut inside when should have forced to byline then Forster allowed shot at near post through his legs.

We played well in first half  Austin caused problems when we finally played a ball over the top, Tadic had a 10 minute spell when he caused problems against his full back, got clobbered a few times and then just disappeared. Tadic really annoyed when on every free kick near the Chelsea box that Davis would take he would come over sure trying to take. Just got in the way, and meant we had one less player in the box, not sure why Fonte doesn't lay down the law sometimes.

Second half we struggled after the second goal, first a dive by costa to win a free kick, cheat, is the best word to describe him, but then running across the box Martina made a woeful effort to block allowing costa time to place his shot. Austin had a header over and effort ruled out for offside. Forster fumbled a couple of fairly simple shots, he needs to work on the practice ground.

Easy for Chelsea in the end and some tired legs at the end.

Forster 5 one of his poorest games for some time
Bertrand 6 showed lack of match fitness
Fonte 7 played well at the back but not sure he leads the team now
Virgil 7 again solid but only really costa to deal with
Martina 5 positional play was poor and back to tackling with wrong leg, he needs a rest.
Classie 6 tough day for all the midfield
Romeau 8 again star of the show, worked his socks off so many tackles, if he had Schneiderlin alongside him we would be really strong.
Davis 6 worked hard but over run in the middle
Tadic 5 looked good for 15 minutes then head dropped and he gave up.
Redmond 6 didn't really look a goal threat, played as centre forward to much
Austin 7 our only player looked likely to score and cam back to make some good tackles, played 90 min so now knackered for Thursday.

Subs
McQueen for Bertrand 6
Boufal for Classie 6 meant we only had 2 midfield which was odd sub, Tadic was obvious
Hojberg for Tadic 6 had a couple of decent interceptions

Thanks Matty.

From my chair in front of the telly, I thought Saints played pretty well in the first half and, maybe, were a little unlucky to be down at half-time.  But second half, and especially after Chelsea's second goal, there was only one team in it.

I know you like Clasie.....but I would choose Hojberg before him.  He seems to add more strength to the middle.

I liked hojberg at start of the season but was poor against Inter and mate said he was poor against Sunderland. I think they play slightly different roles but I would consider hojberg for Davies for some games, think he is better in a more forward role
