DO WE CARRY ON??

I much appreciate your continued interest and support Matty and Pete......but I am now wondering whether there is much point carrying on with this Forum. Perhaps i'm just down after last night's game, .

Anyway, I'll keep it going tilll the transfer window closes just in case there are any amazing ins or outs. After that will decide whether we should go on. Please let me know what you think. Perhaps you could let me have confirmation of your emails so that we can keep in touch.

I would not remove the Forum so that we could always start up again if there was any change in the situation.

By coincidence I see the website started on 29th August 2008, seven years ago tomorrow.

Will be a shame if you pack this in. I think limits on Saints fan involvement could be more related to awareness of the site. I had forgotten I signed up to it and had forgotten I joined. Am annoyed at myself for that being the case.
Maybe doing stuff on twitter ref your site or getting stories more widely available topics (i.e on Newsnow) would get way more clicks.

I was one of the first to join too! It literally started a month before the birth of our first child, and since then I've moved home a few times, had a second child and now living not too far from the Saints... You may remember me? Hope so (we were protest leaving the other well known Saints forum as they wanted to charge for membership)

Shame this is going to close, I would have joined in sooner if I'd remembered!!! (I blame age and kids!!!) ;)

Thanks for your replies guys. If we could have even a handful of fans commenting regularly I'll keep it going. I'll start 2 new threads......one about the Norwich match, and one about possible transfers. Let's see if we can start things rolling.

Mike would be a shame but we seem to eunanle to attract new followers yet when you look at the rubbish on saintsweb you do wonder as would appear to be enough more mature saints fans who want a sensible debate rather than shout down fans with dicfering views. Easy for me as i simply post and do not have to maintain or anything. Sure the season will pick up, a couple of signings, bertrand, classie, forster to return and no reason why we should not have a decent season, top half, good cup tun and doible over spids with Pochitino sacked would be good for me!

Yes, I would love a forum for reasoned debate. I can't even read the Echo's comment section anymore, as it's so utterly depressing. Fans expecting Jay Rodriguez to be immediately on form (if not better than before he had a year off with injury) and this strange wanting to blow >£10m on anyone... Just because we haven't started the season firing on all cylinders. Do they not notice, we have quite a few class players out injured?

Also, the constant blaming of people like Les Reed, because players want to leave the club (Spider et al). We're not a selling club etc. Well unfortunately, the players don't want to stay! That's not the boards fault!

I guess you can't blame players for being fickle, when fans are just as guilty....

I don't post on any Saints forums because I'm just not knowledgeable enough and I can't go to matches - but I get the impression I wouldn't be scoffed at here, and I do get "impressions" that I'd quite like to air sometimes, so as long as you don't scoff at me...

welcome to the new, original members. Feel free to disagree with any of my views, I never take personally, and at times I do get frustrated, been a saints fan for to many years now!

Mike, sorry for the delayed response to your question - I've been away and have just now returned. No, I would be sorry if the site was to close, but I guess that will be your decision mate. I certainly am highly appreciative of the effort that you have put into the site.


To Saint_Sista and "I don't post on any Saints forums because I'm just not knowledgeable enough and I can't go to matches". I am an Aussie (in Aust) and am highly unlikely to ever attend any matches (sadly). Also I am from an Aussie Rules football background and my knowledge of football (soccer) is sadly limited in comparison to that of Mike or Matty07. That said, I occasionally make a comment or two on here and have yet to be howled down, so fear not this site is ok. Oh and welcome back.

Nice to see a few more looking in now and again, I certainly won't shut up shop for now, will see how it goes.
