Would love to see him sign a contract extension, for at least an extra 5 years.

My fav Saints manager yet (previous fav was Alan Ball -mainly because the way Le Tiss played while he was here)..

Perhaps he's training up his brother, so he can then coach the Netherlands after his current tenure.....

Would like to see him stay but think he will complete his contract and move on. Sure it will be for a top European side if he keeps us top 10 with all the player turnover. Edwin might be an option if he doesnt follow him , though if he made the decision on Martina would be a worry, no way PL standard, but we played well at Bitesse with him in charge and would be some form of continuity

I thought that Ronald looked despondent and frustrated just prior to the Toby denouement, and wondered if that could be a turning point in his relationship with the purse-string-holder.

Think he was a bit hacked off initially with the club as took so long but also with Toby as think he had given him an indication he would sign

I've got TalkSport, Hawksbee & Jacobs, on in the background - not really listening, so as usual I miss the whole of a conversation on a topic until something pricks up my ears cat

They had an invited caller talking about the state of Dutch football and it was proposed that Ronald would be the one to rescue the national team.  The caller said (paraphrased) "No way will Koeman leave Southampton this year, this season.  He loves it there, he loves living on the south coast, he loves managing Southampton, even when he had to start off with a new team again and thru the first month with some wanting to leave".

As said, "paraphrased".

sunny

EDIT: They just made it the lead story on the sports news!  The Dutch pundit said "[Ronald] said 'They did me a favour, not appointing me to manage the national team'".

Paraphrased again - my short-term memory is shot cyclops

Really surprising how poorly the Dutch team have done. Sure Ronald can see a poisoned chalice at the moment and expect he will look for a Champions league side when he does move on. The Dutch can appointLvG next😀😆 that should finish them off completely!
