A BRIDGE TOO FAR??
Away at Stamford Bridge on Sunday is going to be real tough, maybe more so because Chelsea will remember we had 2 good results against them last season and they are likely to be on their game. Any chance of points for Saints?
Re: A BRIDGE TOO FAR??
With Lovren in the side and Shaw fit plus a full week of proper training from the international break I think we can get a point. Don't think Cech is as good as he used to be so will be a case of taking our chances. I would consider starting Osvaldo with Rodrigues up front. Rickie didn't look sharp last week and when he had a muscle problem last season he played several games with the injury and not quite on fire. I would start him on the bench and wait for a penalty, oh forgot its at Chelsea so that isn't going to happen! Key will be our midfield stopping them from playing and Wanyama and Morgan will be key players

Re: A BRIDGE TOO FAR??
Well, I hope you are right Matty. It's my turn to be pessimistic as I can't see us getting anything from this. Chelsea will be wary of us after last season's results in the league games between the two teams......plus Arsenal today opened up a 7-point gap at the top of the table and Chelsea will be desperate to close that gap.
I see a Chelsea win, maybe 3-1. But I really hope to be proved wrong........
I have seen Saints play at Stamford Bridge 3 times and each time we won. 1967, or maybe 1968, Saints won 2-6, the following season we won 2-3......and then, of course, in 76 we beat Crystal Palace 2-0 in the Cup Semi-Final. Think Cortese would pay for a helicopter to get me to the game tomorrow??

Re: A BRIDGE TOO FAR??
Well wasnt to be and hope you had a bet on the 3 - 1 scoreline. No complaints really just beaten by a better team with a squad that allows you to have someone like Demba ba on the bench, and he normally scores against us!
Time to think about strengthening the squad, worry about Boruc injury especially with Kelvin also injured, Osvaldo had a chance but didn't really do anything again and need to look at whether buying this type of player, skilled but temperamental, struggle to make an impression.
Will be interesting to see if Cortese admits a mistake with Ramirez and Osvaldo, know you have to give players time but international players should be able to settle within a few months.

Damn, me and my big mouth again!!
Have to hope we can put it behind us and get at least 4 points from our 2 home games next week.
Schneiderlin was injured too??

Don't even go there Pete, will be surprised if England dont lose at least 3 of the tests.Pete from Oz wrote:Oh well at least there's still the Ashes.
Plus they should quit the sledging getting just like football with the snarling and gestures at each other, disappointing that England management have not said enough is enough and get your mind all about the cricket

Yeah I don't like the sledging myself. In the past, say in the day of Botham or Lillee, it was done with a bit of style. What happens now is just tedious and both sides are as guilty as each other.
