The media seem to enjoy being able to pull us apart as often as they can. Are we supposed to stand still so that we can head back down to where we supposedly belong in their eyes?
If we have been knocked back I can not believe we haven't other bids lined up.

Well we know Cortese doesn't exactly foster a good relationship with the media so they will always take a chance to have a pop when they get a chance. Personally I have always thought the club could do better with media relations as they are in the entertainment business but that will not change Cortese.
What is a slight concern for me is the transfer policy where we seem to want to make headlines yet some of our best signings were less newsworthy, Cork, Schneiderlin, Clyne etc. Those type of headline making deals take time to seal and while sure there may be others lined up will soon start being obvious not our first choice.

This is pretty much my view, too.
Cortese aside, the media have never been very fond of Saints and take little notice of us unless it's to slag us off or pull us apart. They've made much of what they think is the fact that Wanyama and the other two, Nainggolan and Osvaldo, knocked us back when, in fact, it was Saints who knocked Wanyama back because of his agents' ridiculous demands for exorbitant fees and there's no proof Saints were actually even looking at the other two (I think Pochettino worked with Osvaldo and the link is probably tenuous at best, and Nainggolan and/or his agents had apparently used Saints' name as a lever to try and drive up his price).
I think that, as usual, a transfer rabbit will be pulled out of the hat and it will be a deal that no-one saw coming.
The media can go and do one along with Wanyama and his greedy agents. They're only interested in the so-called 'big clubs' anyway and even if we ever made it to the top four, they still wouldn't be interested.
