the amount isn't the key, getting the right players is but with the extra Sky money this year think lots of clubs will be spending 20 - 30 m

Good signings last couple of years

Cork, Davis, Boruc, J Rod, Yoshida

Not so good

Ramerez, Mayuka, De Ridder

Mix of expensive and cheap in both groups.

I think we need 5 or 6 to improve the squad but a couple of those could be younger players who look to develop, couple to improve cover at full back and then spend some money on a couple of decent strikers. Trouble is decent strikers will cost a lot!

ps take a million or two out of the Sky money and reduce season ticket prices, okay wishful thinking know it wont happen.

I'd add Clyne to your list of good signings Matty...........and I still think Lee might have proved himself if given the chance.

If I was given 30 million to spend in the transfer market I think I should be looking at getting 3 players to make a difference to the side. Maybe a striker for 15 mil, a winger for 10 mil and a defender for 5 mil.

Wouldn't disagree getting in some quality but think we can also top that up with some cheaper ones, if you look at Cline (good point Saint Mike) Davis and Boruc 3 they were all decent signings and cost less than 4m. So 5m to spend in the lower leagues to see if we can unearth any more gems like Cline as well as helping improve the squad.

There will always be some good players in the lower divisions but finding ones to fit our system is the hard part.
