Re: PHILIPPE COUTINHO??
An attacking midfielder but sounds brilliant. Not sure if this deals with our need for a winger and it is making me wonder whether Ramirez might be going.........
Re: PHILIPPE COUTINHO??
Well we would end up with all attacking midfield players and no one winning the ball at this rate!!! Hasnt set the world on fire in his current club so £10m would seem excessive. If a 6 month loan deal then could see the benefit.
Personally I would be happier with Graham Dorrens from WBA or even Huddleston from Spuds and think that would make us more balanced, Dorrens can play left side and would give Adam a challenge when back fit

Coutinho played for Pochettino at Espanyol. Saintsfc link to him not pie in the sky after all. Sign him and fans memories may fade quickly

Re: PHILIPPE COUTINHO??
As I said before who is going to win the ball for us in midfield, another one who maybe at the start of the season would have beeen a good deal but coming in with just 16 games left you would have to wonder how much impact he would have.

Re: PHILIPPE COUTINHO??
On a Liverpool site.....
The situation with Coutinho to the best of my knowledge is currently: (1) Inter are now resigned to selling Coutinho and there has been interest from Southampton, Liverpool, Aston Villa, Rubin Kazan and Porto. (2) Bids from Southampton, Rubin Kazan and a couple from Liverpool were rejected and a subsequent bid from Southampton has had more success. It has been suggested that there was also a bid from Aston Villa, but that remains unconfirmed. (3) Coutinho has been pushing for more opportunities at Inter for a couple of years and the loan to Espanyol earlier in 2012 gave him important experience. (4) With Sneijder to be, and now sold, everyone thought his future in Milan was assured. However, his opportunities have fewer than expected this season. (5) Paulinho was going to be too expensive if available at all and so Inter has returned to the proposed deal with Montpellier for Belhanda. (6) Coutinho would need a work permit to play in England and that may not be easy to obtain for a permanent move but I would suspect could be arranged through the exception ruling. (7) The player is happy to stay at Inter with the other younger players and fight for opportunities in the first team. (8) Southampton's interest in Coutinho is genuine and after having one bid rejected by Inter. As anticipated, a second bid was made yesterday and that bid has been accepted in principal with permission being granted for the player to talk with Southampton's Argentine coach Mauricio Pochettino who is in Spain. It has been suggested that a little more negotiation is required to finally agree the terms of a transfer between the clubs and that Inter are still seeking some extra money. The accepted bid is far above the higher of the two bids from Liverpool, so the they would need to do something quite significant in terms of making what I would suspect be a final bid from Merseyside. (9) Do not be surprised if the final bid from Liverpool is for a loan-to-buy deal as it was suggested yesterday that Liverpool may have "gone shopping without their credit card"

I understand talk of Coutinho to #SaintsFC is wide of the mark. Interest in summer but Ramirez came in. Sounds as if agent is playing games.

Soory Mike does not have the headline grabbing attention Mr Cortese wants though cheaper and would ceratinly initially be more effective

Re: PHILIPPE COUTINHO??
Does look like he will go to liverpool so if after a midfield player move on, wonder if that means liverpool have given up on Ince so maybe an opportunity there but suspect we will end up going foreign
