WHAT EFFECT WILL 4-0 THRASHING HAVE??
The 4-0 defeat to Udinese coming just a week before the Premiership was not welcome but what will be the effects?? A loss of confidence? The determination to put in even more effort?? Will it make NC and NA even more aware that they need to strengthen the squad quickly???
Re: WHAT EFFECT WILL 4-0 THRASHING HAVE??
Could be the kick up the rear needed. May make NA revert to 442 which the players are comfortable with and seem to be struggling with 433 to create chances. Problem is guys like Lambert and co have spent most of their career playing 442 so changing is not easy.
Was at the Mexico v Brazil Olympic final yesterday, sign the Mexico back 4 and goalie!! Certainly Reyes at CH looked really good and currently playing in Mexico so might not be a ridiculous price as for premiership rejects.
Also Enriquez in midfield was a mexican version of Chaplow, broke up play superbly, simple 10 yard passes, made the Brazilians look pedestrian, surprisingly onlt 21 though looks older but again plays in mexican league, get in there Cortese!!

Thanks Matty, I hope someone from the club looks on here and goes for it......
Re: WHAT EFFECT WILL 4-0 THRASHING HAVE??
It's probably a blessing in disguise as Rickie Lambert has alluded to in his comments on the OS. A 4-0 thrashing, or worse, week in week out in the PL would be more worrying. Pre-season is at least about playing games, getting match fitness and seeing what, who and where needs changing.
I am more concerned about a lack of Prem-quality signings; we have players who will be good Prem players in a couple of seasons' time. We need a CB, as every Saints fan and his dog has already said, and we need a few experienced Premier League players. What we currently have is a bloody good Championship side.
